Valentines Day 2009

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! Well I know that today isn't actually Valentine's Day, tomorrow is...but it kinda is for us because today is Addi's Valentine's Day party at daycare. And even though she has no clue what Valentine's Day is and today is the same as every other day for her...I was actually kinda of excited. :-)

Last night I got to do my "mommy duties" for the very first time!! Yea!! I went and got Valentine's Day cards and some goodie bags for all the kids at daycare for her party today. It was pretty funny because I went to Target and it took my forever to pick out what to get the kids. I mean there's alot you have to think about when you're picking out this stuff you know! It's actually pretty involved...like, what to get the boys vs. the girls. At first I saw pencils...but then they only had pink pencils with hearts and girly stuff on them and I'm pretty sure the boys wouldn't like pink pencils! So I decided no on the pencils. Then I thought of course they would love candy, cause I mean who doesn't!?!?...but then the little ones can't have candy so what do I get them??? (So now you see my dilemma!!)...

Ok, so then as I'm walking to the checkout thinking I'll just do candy and that'll be ok...I see a rack full of Playdo!!! Yep, I said playdo!! They were so cute too, little mini ones with all different color tops for Valentine's Day (Red, Pink, White, & Purple). So, I finally get home and put all the little bags together with the Valentine's card, candy, and Playdo...which I decided to skip the candy for the smaller kids...and I must admit I was feeling pretty good considering this is my first "mommy duty" for Addi. That WAS until this morning driving to drop Addi off at daycare where...all of a sudden...I realized this....I am such a ROOKIE mom!!! Playdo?? Really! The parents are going to kill me!! Here I am thinking I'm so awesome cause I've got Playdo (2 Playdo's mind you...) in their goodie bags not even thinking what a huge mess these kids are going to make!! It's probably going to be everywhere!! Well, I guess every new mom gets a few free passes here and there right?? I'll take one for this one. ;-)

*And for a side note: When I dropped off the goodie bags I did happen to notice that one of the other parents also got Playdo for the kids in their goodie bags...except they got GLITTER Playdo which is WAY worse than regular Playdo right?? So I'm thinking I'm might be in the clear for this one!! HA HA!!

So, I guess the moral of the story today is...think before putting goodie bags together! It's not as easy as it looks! HE HE

Well, I guess that's it for today...

I will be spending it with my loving hubby and cutie pie daughter, dinner and a movie, CLASSIC! So, until next time...
